Death by diversity

22 year-old Eve Carson was the University of North Carolina student body president. She reached out to ethnic minority students, pledged to extend "Diversity Week" into a year-long program and maintained that special funds should be set aside for diversity-related projects. In short, Carson paid lip service to a multi-racial society.

So how did multi-racial society treat Carson? Just ask Demario James Atwater, 21, and Lawrence Alvin Lovett Jr., 17, the two African-American individuals believed to have stolen her car and murdered her.

Lovett was a convicted criminal who had just been on probation. Turns out his probation officer, Charlita Thomas, was quite the role model. Not only did Thomas, an African American woman, fail to monitor Lovett, but it is believed that she "embellished on his probation record." It gets even better: Thomas has a criminal record of her own and has been arrested 11 times over the last five years. Can you look me square in the face and say "Thomas was the best person to apply for the position of probation officer"? Didn't think so. Try this one instead: "Hooray, Affirmative Action."

Shed a tear for Eve, just another victim of the insanity she represents.
